چکیده
Mid- to far-infrared (IR) lines are suited study dust obscured regions in galaxies, because IR spectroscopy allows us explore the most hidden where heavily star formation as well accretion onto supermassive black-holes occur. This is mostly important at redshifts of 1<z<3, when baryonic mass galaxies has been assembled. We provide reliable calibrations mid- far-IR ionic fine structure lines, brightest H2 pure rotational and Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) features, that will be used analyse current future observations mm/submm range from ground, mid-IR upcoming James Webb Space Telescope. use three samples observed local Universe: forming AGN low-metallicity dwarf galaxies. Mid - to - Far Infrared Spectral Energy Distribution of Galaxies in Spitzer First Look Survey Field ∗
We made model fitting to the mid-to-far infrared spectral energy distributions (SEDs) for different categories of galaxies in the main extragalactic field of the Spitzer First Look Survey with the aid of spectroscopic information from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. We find that the mid-to-far infrared SEDs of HII galaxies, mixture type galaxies and LINERs can be well fitted by the one-parameter ...
متن کاملMid-Infrared Spectral Diagnosis of Submillimeter Galaxies
We present deep mid-infrared spectroscopy with the Spitzer Space Telescope of 13 submillimeter galaxies (SMGs) in the Great Observatories Origins Deep Survey North (GOODS-N) field. We find strong polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) emission in all of our targets which allows us to measure mid-IR spectroscopic redshifts and place constraints on the contribution from star formation and active g...
متن کاملMid-Infrared Spectral Diagnostics of Nearby Galaxies
The Spitzer Space Telescope is pushing into new frontiers in high redshift astronomy. Closer to home, Spitzer is making an equally large impact on our understanding of galaxy formation and evolution. In this contribution we present mid-infrared diagnostics based largely on data from the Spitzer Infrared Nearby Galaxies Survey (SINGS). Our main result is that these mid-infrared diagnostics effec...
متن کاملMid-Infrared Spectral Diagnostics of Luminous Infrared Galaxies
We present a statistical analysis of 248 luminous infrared galaxies (LIRGs) which comprise the Great Observatories All-sky LIRG Survey (GOALS) observed with the Infrared Spectrograph (IRS) on-board Spitzer in the rest-frame wavelength range between 5 and 38 μm. The GOALS sample enables a direct measurement of the relative contributions of star-formation and active galactic nuclei (AGN) to the t...
متن کاملThe Infrared Spectral Energy Distribution of Normal Star-Forming Galaxies: Calibration at Far-Infrared and Submillimeter Wavelengths
New far-infrared and submillimeter data are used to solidify and to extend to long wavelengths the empirical calibration of the infrared spectral energy distribution (SED) of normal star-forming galaxies. As was found by Dale et al. (2001), a single parameter family, characterized by fν(60μm) fν(100μm) , is adequate to describe the range of normal galaxy spectral energy distributions observed b...
